Travertine falls
Kuang Si falls in northern Laos is a typical example of a travertine falls where the water falls over a series of limestone ridges with alternating waterfalls and inviting turquoise pools. Travertine is a hard sedimentary rock, formed when calcium carbonate minerals precipitate from solution in hot spring waters. Yellowstone National Park is the best example in the US of travertine deposits.
