Fish traps
Man in a dugout canoe loaded with fish traps moves up the flooded Tahas River towards Tonle Sap lake, Cambodia, to set his fish traps. The lake's size varies considerably over the course of a year from an area of around 2,500 sq km to up to 16,000 sq km at the peak of the Southwest monsoon in early October. The Tonle Sap floodplain is home to 149 species of fish and supports one of the world’s most productive freshwater fisheries.

on January 2, 2018Very nice shot of the dugout canoe ! That man must have an excellent sense of balance, on such a narrow platform ! The river certainly looks flooded.

on May 25, 2016Interesting glimpse into the lives of the locals. I always think of fishing as a hard, dangerous way to make a living.
