The garments of Miao residents of Basha are made from an indigo-dyed hand-woven cotton, dyed with Quindai (made from the juice of Baphicacanthus cusia leaves). Eggwhite is added to make it rain-proof, giving it a shiny look. The men's outfits are plain indigo jackets and trousers (following pics) and the women wear indigo jackets and embroidered short pleated skirts embellished with colorful batiks (following pic).<br />
