King swallowtail

King swallowtail butterfly (Papiliio thoas) resting on a philodendron leaf, Parque Aves, Foz do Iguacu, Brazil

Hi Kjakes1: not sure what you mean about proof mark in the middle. I only add a small trademark in the bottom right, which is all that I see on my screen. Please clarify for me or email a screen shot of what you see. Anyone else see this?

 • King swallowtail
 • Black-tufted marmoset
 • Flamingo eye

There is a world class bird park, Parque Das Aves, just outside the entry gates to Foz do Iguacu waterfalls. Early in the morning the flamingos (Phoenicopterus chilensis) seemed to be sleeping with their heads tucked back under their wings...but not quite asleep, as this juvenile's open eye shows.
• Toco toucan (Ramphastos toco) perched by a pool, Foz do Iguacu, Brazil

The toco toucan (common toucan) is the largest member of the toucan family with a bill up to 23 cm (9 in) long. The bill is not as heavy as it looks, as it is largely hollow inside. It is used to pick and peel fruit and other food, and to reach things that might otherwise be out of reach. It can also be used to scare off predators.
Beautiful butterfly, and love the color and pattern. But I wish I could see more of it without the proof mark in the center.
