Who's hunting who?
The rainy season is a time of plenty for the prey animals who have plenty to fresh grass to feed on during their Great Migration north and the predators who follow the migration picking off the very old, sick and young animals. This well-fed lion and lioness walked deliberately through a gathering of safari vehicles, Lake Ndutu, Tanzania. They were heading up towards where we were parked by the woods, probably for a little rest in the shade after their big meal. They are very used to seeing the trucks and have no fear of them, and don't see the people inside as representing either prey or as a source of danger. This is the most vehicles I saw in the Southern Serengeti, attracted there by the huge flood the day before and the sight of the migrating herds across the river that formed when the lake overflowed (best larger)
