Mare and stallion, Przewalskii's horse, Hustai National Park, Mongolia
After disappearing from the wild in the 1960s, this rare wild hose was reintroduced to the wild in 1992 and subsequently after breeding from a few captive individuals descended from wild animals captured around 1900.
I don't know why your images aren't showing up in the dailies. It occurred to me that the ones that are showing up are those of folks who have not yet converted to the new smugmug and that the workaround that those of you who have moved to the new smugmug is no longer working, since smugmug has said that there will be NO communities in the new smugmug. I haven't checked to see if those showing up are all still on the old version of smugmug. I know nelli (donna) and I have not yet converted. I'm not sure about the others.
Nice shot Terry. They look as though they are not very big (tall). I'm sure that's just a characteristic of the breed. Or it could be the rise of the land that they are standing a bit behind of. Either way, nice work and I'm glad they are being protected. I had to come to your gallery to see this as I didn't see it in the first few pages of the Daily Most Popular.
