Large herd of alert female impala looking at the photographer with their ears all forward (Aepyceros melampus), Grumeti Game Reserve, Serengeti, Tanzania. The sole male is lying down in the middle of his harem to the middle left with his large horns just peeking above the back of a female. The dominant males collect huge herds of females, while the young males form their own batchelor herds, although two or three young males with their tiny horns form part of this herd. They will eventually be driven out by the dominant male (best larger).
